free swim lessons for families who qualify
Swim lessons not only keep kids safe in the water, they can also be the first step in building confidence, social skills and healthy living. We are excited to learn your child wants to swim! Through the generosity of Shannon’s Fund, a scholarship opportunity named in memory of Shannon Hawkins (one of our beloved aquatics instructors), we are able to provide free swim lessons for youth and teens between the ages of 6 and 17. In order to qualify for the funds, recipients must have little to no swimming skills and demonstrate a financial need.

The 9th Annual YMCA Golf Tournament is an exciting fundraising event sponsored by YMCA Silver Spring. Held this year on the greens of Argyle, the tournament serves as a way to raise support, raise awareness, and raise funding. Over the past 8 years, this Tournament has become the branch’s premier event and, in 2013, helped us provide more than $160,000 in financial support for Silver Spring children and adults. Please join us and watch your heart and swing shine.
