The Advanced class is for children who have mastered the Intermediate skills list and have been evaluated by a lead teacher of the Advanced classes. During the class, gymnasts focus on increasing strength and flexibility and learn advanced gymnastics skills.
Gymnasts will begin learning how to put skills together into combinations. Continued emphasis is on gaining strength and flexibility while working on walkovers, handsprings, front hip circles on bars, cartwheels and handstands on high beam. The Beginners class is for children who have never had formal gymnastics instruction before as well as advanced beginners. During the class, gymnasts learn gymnastics skills including rolls, both side cartwheels, and bridge kickovers on floor; pullovers and back hip circles on bars; and scales and jumps, forward rolls, and handstands on beam.

YMCA Woodmont's Angels Gymnastics Team starts at Level 4 and goes through optional levels. We follow the USAG curriculum and guidelines. To be a part of the team, you must be evaluated by the head coach and then be invited to participate. Regular attendance is expected of all team members. Fees vary.

During the class, gymnasts focus more on increasing strength and flexibility and learn more challenging gymnastics skills including walkovers and handsprings on floor; mill circles, glides, and dismounts on bars; and split jumps, cartwheels, and dismounts on beam.
The YMCA Tae Kwon Do classes provide a unique and challenging opportunity for individuals of all ages and capabilities to have fun while getting a good physical work-out. Tae Kwon Do is a Korean Martial Art that promotes a healthy mind and body through vigorous mental and physical exercise. Classes help students develop flexibility, strength and endurance, while also focusing on increasing self-esteem, respect, concentration and discipline.
