Thinga-What? What is that?
It's the Most Fun, Creative, Eco-Friendly, and Educational Festival of its Kind!
Thingamajig gives youth from all over the region the opportunity to exercise their minds and bodies while stimulating their creativity. It is a FREE full day of stimulating, hands-on challenges and activities designed to expose local youth to the worlds of science, technology, performing arts, aeronautics, engineering, active fitness and play, nutrition, and going green. We had a diverse group of community partners who joined us in 2012 to share their expertise with the kids: the FAA, Giant Foods, the Tuskegee Airmen, Washington Gas, AOPA, College Park Aviation Museum, DC Dept. of Public Works, DC Maxecuters, DreamsWork, FIRST, the Patriot Center, LEGO Lab and more. With 14 invention challenges and over 50 interactive workshops, kids leave with a personal understanding of the world, their health and their future.
The main attraction of Thingamajig is the opportunity for kids to compete for prizes by crafting the next great Thingamajig with recycled materials!
