Family Support
The Y helps young people and their families improve their well-being. As a supportive team, we work with families to create plans that make relationships stronger and young people more resilient. The Y is well positioned to treat children, youth, and families from all backgrounds. Our staff provides an array of care coordination and case management services for youth and their families in Montgomery County, MD. Our care coordinators and case managers help build on existing strengths while helping families cope with challenges. Services help children and youth become part of a safe and permanent living situation. We offer qualifying children, youth and families high levels of support and intensive services including:
- Mentoring
- Behavioral support services
- 24-hour crisis consultation and outreach support
- In-home Family preservation
- Coaching and advocacy
Programs Include:
YouthLinks Mentoring
County-wide mentoring for court or child welfare involved youth ages (5- 16).
Linkages to Learning
Services include assistance for families moving to the United States deal with changes that are involved with living in our country.
Inter-agency Family Preservation Services (IFPS)
A program that assists youth and their families with the communication skills needed to strengthen their relationships as well as a foster care program, crisis outreach response system and in-home parenting support.
Parenting Consultations
Individual parent consultations; because kids just don’t come with a manual.
